Fishing possible in three mountain lakes. Patents and bait available directly at the hotel. Fish room with cleaning station and vacuum machine included.
Night exit.
Outside our opening hours you can enter our house at any time with your room key via the night exit (ski room) in the basement and of course also outside! Please do not forget your key!
Emergency exits.
All exits on the lake side on all floors are emergency exits, not for daily use and cannot be opened from the outside.

A great birthday party!
We celebrated the 30th birthday of a family member at the Distelboden and felt completely at ease. The overnight stay was very pleasant, especially the beds were extremely comfortable. The excellent food deserves a special mention – it really was a culinary delight! The weather was fantastic and we were able to enjoy the breathtaking panorama with views of Lake Melchsee and the surrounding mountains to the full. The combination of the idyllic location, the friendly staff and the cozy atmosphere made this special occasion unforgettable for us. We would love to come back!

We had long wanted to do the four-lake hike from Engelberg to Frutt and discovered the Berghotel Distelboden – a real stroke of luck! As we come from eastern Switzerland and use public transport, we stayed there for one night and it was absolutely great. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and offered everything you need for a great start to the day. What was particularly nice was that we were greeted personally by the host couple. If you are looking for cozy, warm accommodation in a beautiful mountain setting, you should definitely stay here!

Vacations that pay off!
We spent a hiking vacation as a family on Melchsee-Frutt and it was an unforgettable experience! The surroundings are simply fantastic – perfect for long hikes and relaxing walks. Our children particularly enjoyed the great playgrounds and the fire pits by the lake. The via ferrata on the Bonistock was a real highlight for the more adventurous among us. The Balmeregghorn offered a breathtaking view of the mountains. The Berghotel Distelboden was the ideal accommodation: cozy, with comfortable beds and a hearty breakfast. Highly recommended for families who love nature and adventure!

A picture book fishing vacation.
The two of us spent a week fishing on Melchsee-Frutt and had a lot of fun! Although it was a bit crowded that weekend because there was a fishing competition, we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet on the water and catch some fish. It was particularly exciting to take the boat out onto the Melchsee and fish there. We also had success at Tannensee. At the Berghotel Distelboden, we gutted the fish in our own fishing room and then vacuum-packed them. Simply brilliant. The delicious breakfast prepared us perfectly for the fishing day. Good luck fishing for all anglers in this fantastic mountain setting – it doesn’t get any better than this!
